Spirit of Rugby Challenge 2010

When : 12 Jun 2010
Where : MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya
Ticket price : RM50 free seating

You know Chenta kan. Rugby is his thing. Boy, when was the last time WE watch big games together? Honestly I can’t remember!. I always love stadium, field and grass. It’s funny how I become so calm and peaceful every time I see the green. I guess field is my happy place (sama seperti kedai kasut).

green + tough guys + funny scene

It was Chenta’s intention to introduce Rugby (games) to Iman. But his little Jr didn’t show a hint of interest; accept for the loud horn and huge space for him to run. Yeah he cheered a bit during the first game and clap happily when it finished. I thought he clapped like the rest of the spectators (team seremban itu menang kan..) then when everybody duduk waiting for the next game he said ‘ Hah dah habis pun, Mummy jom balik saya penat, saya nak tengok tv la…’. Treeettttttttt.. sangat potong!.

muka bosan habis..

So you can probably imagine how he behave during the real big match!. Siap baring kat pangku lagi! Grrr, and Chenta was at the ground, working on his gadgets, snapping the stars.

Apapun, it was fun, seeing Lomu that close (dulu masa Sukom tengok dari jauh saja), we were standing at the railing when suddenly team NZ walked to us, hah.. berbaloi…

Eleh.. salam jek.. bukan dapat boot dia pung… we miss it like this close *thumb and pointing fingers rapat*!!

Bukan jalan-jalan, Ziarah Pok Sop, Temasek (lagi)

When : 5 Jun 2010
Where : National University Hospital, Orchard Rd, Zam Zam Arab St, Masjid Sultan
Who : Wak Setam, Pak Dik, Kak Nyah, Kakak

4/5/2010 Kakak called from kampong. Ringkas bunyinya : Dik, Pok Sop accident kat tempat kerja dia. Banyak yang saya tanya, mungkin soalan saya juga penuh celaru dia hanya menjawab : Tak tahu, yang tahu hanya tulang belakang mungkin problem. Petang ni kitorang nak ke JB, esok ikut Mak Mah masuk Singapore. Saya lantas menelefon Pak Dik, kompem ptg ini terus balik kampong. Saya call kakak semula, tukar plan. Tunggu kami.

Weekend itu sebenarnya kami banyak rancangan. Pak Dik sudah tempah Tun* Hotel Damansara satu malam. Cadangnya nak nonton Shrek bersama Iman, makan-makan lalu balik ke hotel. Esoknya jalan ke ikea, the curve dan lihat-lihat showhouse. Oh. Tun* itu dirasmikan pada 2/6. Pak Dik mahu rasmikan juga, tambahan harganya Cuma RM0.00 semalam. Kamu kenal Pak Dik bukan.

Hati saya lega.

Sabtu pagi kami masuk Singapur. Pok Sop tersenyum saja. Terus sibuk mahu bangun. Kamu harus tahu, anak lelaki Wak Setam memang begitu, tidah ubah seperti bapaknya, mahu tunjuk yang ok ok saja. Dia baru keluar OT pukul 3 pagi tadi, pembedahan tulang belakang!!

Bayangkan!.

Saya sangka dia patah riuk, calar balar tapi Alhamdulillah dia ok.

Ah.. sekeras-keras mana orangnya, kalau bab-bab begini memang sayu.

Kesian Pak Dik, penat dia. hehhe contoh menantu mithali gitu. Ahaks!

Tu lah, dah lama tak pergi Sg, bila pergi kerap pula.

*entry tidak bergambar kerana menghormati pesakit, ye la, kan nak menziarah orang sakit, tak kan sibuk nak posing pula, mau kena jelingan Wak Setam!

Jalan-jalan (bersokan) Temasek

When : 07 – 10 Mei 2010
Where : Downtown East Pasir Ris, NUS, Bugis, Arab Street, Adelphi, Funan, Clarke Quay, Queensway

It came at the right time when I need a break from horrifying office work. Yes work been pressing me tough but I forbid it from messing up my life. So this break is most wanted. And I know by agreeing to participate means I have to change routines, diets and exercises!. Those vocabularies were long gone from my daily living since ages ago! hah! There were days when I woke up early and jog, running on the treadmill when weather seems not on my side or simply because I reached home late, skipping lunch for aerobic classes. Yeah, that bad because I was terrifyingly overweight!

Was n
ot surprise at all when we were almost 2 hours late from the scheduled time. Trip to the north pretty much boring, managed to read half of By The River Pedre I Sat and Wept by Paulo Coelho. JB branch provides nasi ambeng for lunch. Not to my liking probably it’s JB style. I don’t know.

Our bus (no8) apparently didn’t get the permit to enter Sg. we were told by transportation committee to proceed by public transport and they promised to take care of our luggage which will be loaded to other buses. Wtf? Ingat ini rombongan sekolah ke hapa? After much confrontations from the captain and myself (nak gak sibuk2) they agreed to let us menyelit di bas2 lain. Moi wa
s seated in between drivers on the front seat of LDV. Yes, that bad! Many of us have to stand in other buses. Boo for urusetia!!! I wonder did the VIPs know about this chaos. Obviously their bus had left when we were busy splitting people.

Muka happy nak pergi + bengang kat JB

Another round of confusion at the Sg Immigration as we didn’t fill in the white form. Well, well, not really taken-care-of as informed. Double Boo!! Turn out our LDV was first to clear up and upon exiting custom the driver seems lost and ask ‘mana hala?’. I called urusetia asking direction (drivers were given none info!!) and rasa nak pitam when was told ‘park dulu tepi Jalan’. Hah! Macam kat kampong dia kan! 10x boo!!. Merely 15 min waiting, another LDV arrived and parked behind us. Lost juga. Luckily one of us (from ping pong team) brought Sg map. After sought conformity from everybody else, we precede the journey ikut map.
That was it, the bitter part of the journey that even I don’t know why, somehow I wanted people to know. Channeling the –ve vibes out.

The hotel.

Now forget the above… the FUN time begin!!! At noon we were brought to a secret location for surprised xtvt before the opening dinner. It was Singapore Flyer!! Hurray! It’s bigger than LondonEye uolls!. Jimat 29.50 SGD. Seeing Sg at nite, 165m from the ground was WOW! Happened to be in the same flight with Tan Sri KP and Sg Vips was… emmm, kena mingle and sembang skema.. menci!!!.

The esplanade – Theatre on the bay is majestic! The Floating Stadium

We were then ushered to the Singapore Flyer Hall for the dinner. Love the fun and funny emcees. Love the ladies who dance in micro mini skirt and sleeveless imitating Wonders Girls-Nobody.

8/5/2010 Early morning jog at Pasir Ris Park, along the beach. Love the clean park. Free Social Bowling at DowntownEast.

Pasir Ris + DowntownEast bowling alley

After lunch we set off to NUS (National Univ of Sg) at Bukit Timah. People busy cheering for teams, I went to watch hockey tournament held there. We then cheer for football at the stadium but when the 2nd goal scored (not even 15mins yet), everybody started to leave. I joined bowling team (ramai geng opis) ronda city center turun naik MRT sampai kaki macam nak tercabut!!!

Arab St + Zam Zam rest

Bugis, Arab Street The quest for martabak Sg. Sempat singgah kedai beli kain baju raya. We hopped in MRT from Bugis to City Hall.

The Adelphi,1 Coleman Street – Chenta specifically ask me to go to Adelphi to buy LG blue ray player. Not only were many of the shops already closed when I reached there, even if they’re open, I didn’t see any sells LG product. Adelphi is where you can find VERY high-end AVs, labels I don’t even know how to pronounce.

Funan DigitaLife Mall – across the street is the infamous Funan. Guys merayap, I lepak bawah sambil minum mocha latte from *buck bought @ 7E. Few lots after 7E is a adult shop. I was busy focusing my lenses to the items on display when suddenly the memory card went kaput. There gone all the fun pics taken before!!! Duhhhhhhh!!!

Clarke Quay – Dzarul believed he’s too underdressed for clark quay and decided to buy new gay-like tshirt. Padahal orang lain dressing lagi ntah hapa-hapa. Heheh. Off we go to clark quay. Wow! It was Saturday night and people were having their good time. Since bowling captain nak belanja minum, I said, let’s try Hooters. Semua gembira. Kemaluan sendiri melihat waiters wearing very skimpy uniform. Hahahahha I said Hooters kan. Maka xtvt lepak tengok orang cun/sexy saja. Captain said, minum di *buck tepi MRT sajalah.. hahahah, end up beli drinks masing2 kat Mart lepak minum tepi *buck sebab penuh orang yang amats. Around 12++ we moved back to Pasir Ris. Calrk Quay to Pasir Ris is like crossing the Island. We need to change from purple line to green line and that long journey only cost us 1.99SGD. Sampai Pasir Ris, returned the ticket and got 1SGD back. Tambang hanyalah 0.99 sen sahaja dek non. *kagum*. Reached hotel around 1++. Macam mana mau lari esok???

Muka fenat yang amats

9/5/2010
The judgment day. Free big breakfast at Mcd and hopped to NUS. Kepala masih berdenyut sebab tidur lambat. Padan muka. Warmed up macam orang giler sebab ketakutan. Geng rambu gelakkan gua. Bedebah.

Beiya-iya

Well, 4x100Senior kalah!! Tapi tak per lah… bukan salah gue.. 4th runner pancit tak lari for the last 10m, kena potong. Ya, kami dah jauhkan gap +- 5m. I tot I was the one paling tak fit, ropanya…. Hahahhaa. Anyhow, the whole event kami menang la….. oh if you wonder, Senior is for 35 and above. Oh how old am I?

Tak de gambo senirik, bubuh gambo awek cun

After marvelous lunch of fish, pasta, salad and fruits we went to Bugis Street. Adik2 wanted to get Sg souvenirs. Then to Queensway for sports clothing and shoes. Akak layan saja. Balik Pasir Ris naik cab kena 18SGD. Semua bertiduran dalam cab. Malam ready for closing dinner. Dinner was super fun. The committee even gave us mothers a flower for Mother’s Day. Sayu la.

5 thumbs up for them for being professional, very very nice, helpful and thoughtful. Just imagine, every morning there will be one of them to do wakeup call and will personally knock our door inviting us for breakfast or dinner. During games, they will give away not only drinks, but also ice-cream and snacks!!. Dah la semua AJK cute and handsome belaka.

After dinner, bought B&J and barbican, lepak @ bbq pit in front of our rooms. 10/5/2010 It’s time to say goodbye. I woke up super early just to watch sunrise at the beach. Choi and Wan Zul joined in. Sungguh aman damai.

They gave us 5SGD coupon for breakfast and we got these!. hehe top up sendiri, sebab tamak nak rasa semua. oh subway Sg adalah tidak halal.

Trip to KL was super duper boring. I finished reading Paulo Coelho, Women weekly Sg, Vogue Sg (free gift - elle small tote, sila jeles) and few gadget mags for Chenta.

Rindu (sangat) Iman. Bengang memory card rosak!

Warning - Danger of wearing soft and bendable shoes

I've posted this kat FB, but need to re-post it here.
I don’t know, maybe it was the escalator or maybe it was the shoes or maybe it was Iman who somehow didn't stand still or moved his feet (you can’t be absolutely sure, kid are after all mysterious). But Iam calling all parents to be aware of this.

Yes I am very much aware of the reports and warnings regarding crocs and accident at escalators. And yes I will ALWAYS make sure Iman will stand STILL on the CENTER, as most accident said kid's feet get sucked into THE SIDE of escalators.

It happened just as we were getting up to the upper floor. Iman suddenly, frantically rocked his right leg, as I grabbed him (he was standing in front of me) , the crocs slipped off. Luckily it was loose (he hates the back heel strap). If not, the strap would hold his feet tight and took him or me another few seconds to let it loose, and I don’t dare to imagine what could happened in that mere seconds!. The shoe gets caught in the teeth BETWEEN the steps. So parents, being careful just not good enough. No matter where your kid stands, the soft rubbery material somehow easily gets sucked in the escalator.

The damage

Can you imagine how horrified I was at that time? I repeatedly ask Iman if he feels any pain. Alhamdulillah he was not injured at all. He was so brave, seemingly more upset that his crocs gets ruined. It hurts to hear him saying ‘Mummy, crocs car saya koyak’. Yeah he love crocs, but sorry baby, no more crocs at mall or any places with escalators.
